forlax Macrogol 4000 10g

Indication

Forlax is an osmotic laxative used for the treatment of constipation in adults and children. It works by retaining water in the colon, softening the stool, and facilitating defecation.

Ingredients

• Macrogol 4000 (Polyethylene glycol 4000) 10 g per sachet

Direction

Adults: 1–2 sachets daily (10–20 g). Dissolve the contents of each sachet in a glass of water (125 mL). Take in the morning. Children 8 years and over: 1 sachet daily. Children under 8 years: dosing per weight under medical supervision. Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest time necessary.

Side effects

• Abdominal bloating or cramping.
• Diarrhoea with excessive doses.
• Nausea.
• Flatulence.
• Electrolyte imbalance with prolonged high
• dose use.

Precautions

• Not for use in patients with inflammatory bowel disease in acute phase.
• Contraindicated in intestinal obstruction or suspected bowel perforation.
• Consult a doctor if constipation persists for more than 2 weeks.
• Not recommended for children under 8 years without medical advice.
• Maintain adequate fluid intake during treatment.
• Keep out of reach of children.
