Indication
Used for the relief of symptoms in osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and chronic musculoskeletal pain.
Ingredients
- Etoricoxib 60 mg
Direction
Adults (osteoarthritis): 30–60 mg once daily. Adults (rheumatoid arthritis/ankylosing spondylitis): 60–90 mg once daily. Take with or without food.
Side effects
- Headache
- Dizziness
- Hypertension
- Edema
- Abdominal pain / nausea
- Elevated liver enzymes
- Serious cardiovascular events (rare)
Precautions
- Contraindicated in established ischemic heart disease
- peripheral arterial disease
- cerebrovascular disease
- uncontrolled hypertension.
- Contraindicated in severe hepatic or renal impairment.
- Increased risk of serious cardiovascular thrombotic events and serious GI events.
- Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration.
- May interact with warfarin
- lithium
- methotrexate
- rifampicin.
