Indication

Dramside (dimenhydrinate) is an antihistamine used for the prevention and treatment of nausea, vomiting, and dizziness associated with motion sickness, vertigo, and inner ear disorders.

Ingredients

• Dimenhydrinate 50 mg

Direction

Adults: 50–100 mg every 4–6 hours as needed; maximum 400 mg in 24 hours. Children 6–12 years: 25–50 mg every 6–8 hours. Take 30 minutes before travel for motion sickness. Do not crush or chew extended-release forms.

Side effects

• Drowsiness
• sedation — very common.
• Dry mouth
• blurred vision — common.
• Urinary retention — uncommon.
• Paradoxical excitation in children — rare.

Precautions

• Causes sedation — do not drive or operate machinery.
• Avoid alcohol during treatment.
• Use with caution in patients with glaucoma

• prostatic hyperplasia
• or epilepsy.
• Avoid in neonates.
• Keep out of reach of children.
• Consult a doctor before use if pregnant or breastfeeding.
