Indication
Coversyl Plus is a combination antihypertensive. Perindopril is an ACE inhibitor, and indapamide is a thiazide-like diuretic. Together they are used to treat hypertension when monotherapy is insufficient.
Ingredients
- Perindopril arginine 5 mg
- Indapamide 1.25 mg
Direction
Adults: One tablet once daily, preferably in the morning before a meal. Dose is adjusted by a physician.
Side effects
- Dry cough (ACE inhibitor effect) β common.
- Dizziness
- headache β common.
- Hypokalaemia (low potassium) β uncommon.
- Angioedema β rare but potentially life
- threatening.
- Renal impairment β monitor regularly.
Precautions
- Contraindicated in pregnancy β must not be used at any stage of pregnancy.
- Contraindicated with history of angioedema related to ACE inhibitors.
- Contraindicated with aliskiren in diabetic patients.
- Monitor renal function
- electrolytes (especially potassium)
- and blood pressure regularly.
- May cause first
- dose hypotension β start with caution in at
- risk patients.
- Keep out of reach of children.
