Indication

Regulut-N (norethisterone) is a synthetic progestogen used to postpone or regulate menstruation, treat dysfunctional uterine bleeding, endometriosis, and premenstrual syndrome.

Ingredients

• Norethisterone 5 mg

Direction

For menstrual postponement: 5 mg three times daily, starting 3 days before expected period onset, until desired postponement period ends. Menstruation usually resumes 2–3 days after stopping. For other indications, follow the prescriber's instructions.

Side effects

• Nausea
• headache — common.
• Breast tenderness — common.
• Weight changes
• mood changes — uncommon.
• Breakthrough bleeding — possible.
• Thromboembolic events — rare but serious.

Precautions

• Do not use in pregnancy.
• Contraindicated in patients with a history of arterial or venous thrombosis.
• Use with caution in patients with hepatic impairment
• jaundice
• or liver tumour.
• May cause breakthrough bleeding.
• Keep out of reach of children.
• Not a contraceptive at this dose.
