Indication
Pimag (sucralfate suspension) is a gastrointestinal mucosal protective agent used for the treatment of peptic ulcers, gastritis, and oesophagitis.
Ingredients
- Sucralfate 1 g per 5 mL suspension
Direction
Adults: 10 mL (1 g sucralfate) four times daily, taken 30–60 minutes before each meal and at bedtime on an empty stomach. Shake well before use.
Side effects
- Constipation — common.
- Dry mouth
- nausea — uncommon.
- Aluminium accumulation — with renal impairment.
Precautions
- Use with caution in patients with chronic renal failure — risk of aluminium accumulation.
- Separate administration from other medicines by at least 2 hours.
- Not recommended for prolonged use without medical supervision.
- Keep out of reach of children.
