Pimag Suspension

Indication

Pimag (sucralfate suspension) is a gastrointestinal mucosal protective agent used for the treatment of peptic ulcers, gastritis, and oesophagitis.

Ingredients

• Sucralfate 1 g per 5 mL suspension

Direction

Adults: 10 mL (1 g sucralfate) four times daily, taken 30–60 minutes before each meal and at bedtime on an empty stomach. Shake well before use.

Side effects

• Constipation — common.
• Dry mouth
• nausea — uncommon.
• Aluminium accumulation — with renal impairment.

Precautions

• Use with caution in patients with chronic renal failure — risk of aluminium accumulation.
• Separate administration from other medicines by at least 2 hours.
• Not recommended for prolonged use without medical supervision.
• Keep out of reach of children.
