Salboget Various

Indication

Salboget contains salbutamol, a short-acting beta-2 agonist bronchodilator used for the relief and prevention of bronchospasm in asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and exercise-induced bronchospasm.

Ingredients

• Salbutamol (Albuterol) — strength not specified

Direction

For inhalation (adults and children 4 years and over): 1–2 puffs (100–200 mcg) when required. Maximum 8 puffs in 24 hours. For prevention of exercise-induced bronchospasm: 2 puffs 15–30 minutes before exercise. Follow physician or pharmacist instructions for correct inhaler technique.

Side effects

• Tremor (fine muscle trembling).
• Palpitations or increased heart rate.
• Headache.
• Muscle cramps.
• Hypokalaemia with high doses.

Precautions

• Do not exceed the recommended dose
• overuse may cause paradoxical bronchospasm.
• Use with caution in patients with cardiovascular disease
• hypertension
• hyperthyroidism
• or diabetes.
• Increasing use of a rescue inhaler suggests worsening asthma — seek medical advice.
• Keep out of reach of children.
