Indication
Almex 400 (Albendazole) is a broad-spectrum anthelmintic used to treat intestinal worm infestations including ascariasis, enterobiasis (pinworm), hookworm, whipworm (trichuriasis), strongyloidiasis, and neurocysticercosis.
Ingredients
- Albendazole 400 mg
Direction
For common intestinal worms (adults and children over 2 years): Single dose of 400 mg. For hydatid disease and neurocysticercosis: 400 mg twice daily for 28 days, repeated in cycles as directed by a physician. Take with food (fatty meal enhances absorption for tissue infections).
Side effects
- Nausea
- vomiting
- or abdominal pain.
- Headache.
- Dizziness.
- Elevated liver enzymes.
- Hair loss (with prolonged use).
- Bone marrow suppression — rare.
Precautions
- Contraindicated in the first trimester of pregnancy
- use reliable contraception during treatment.
- Monitor liver function in patients on prolonged therapy.
- May cause bone marrow suppression
- monitor blood counts with long
- term use.
- Keep out of reach of children.
