Flemex Carbocysteine 250mg/5ml

Indication

Flemex (Carbocysteine) is a mucolytic agent used to reduce the viscosity of mucus, facilitating its clearance from the respiratory tract in conditions such as bronchitis, sinusitis, and other respiratory disorders associated with excessive or viscous mucus.

Ingredients

• Carbocysteine 250 mg per 5 ml

Direction

Adults: 15 ml (750 mg) three times daily. Children 2–4 years: 5 ml (250 mg) twice daily. Children 5–11 years: 5 ml (250 mg) three times daily. May be taken with or without food.

Side effects

• Nausea
• vomiting
• or diarrhoea.
• Gastrointestinal upset.
• Skin rash (rare).
• Gastrointestinal bleeding — rare.

Precautions

• Avoid in patients with active peptic ulcer.
• Use with caution during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
• Consult a doctor if symptoms persist after 7 days.
• Keep out of reach of children.
