Vagivex VT1 Clotrimazole 500mg

Indication

Clotrimazole 500 mg vaginal tablet is used for the treatment of vaginal candidiasis (thrush) caused by Candida species. It is an antifungal that disrupts the fungal cell membrane.

• Clotrimazole 500 mg

Direction

Adults: Insert one 500 mg vaginal tablet as high as possible into the vagina, preferably at bedtime, as a single dose. Use the applicator provided. Treatment is typically a single application. Consult a doctor if symptoms do not resolve within 7 days.

Side effects

• Local burning or irritation after insertion
• Vaginal itching or discharge
• Mild abdominal discomfort (rare)

Precautions

• For vaginal use only
• not for oral use.
• Do not use if allergic to clotrimazole or other imidazole antifungals.
• Avoid use during the first trimester of pregnancy
• use in second/third trimester only on medical advice.
• May damage latex condoms and diaphragms — use alternative contraception.
• Consult a doctor if this is the first episode
• if symptoms recur within 2 months
• or if there is unusual discharge
• fever
• or abdominal pain.
• Keep out of eyes.
