Medabon Combipack Mifepristone 200mg + Misoprostol 200mcg (4 tablets)

Indication

Medabon Combipack is used for medical termination of intrauterine pregnancy up to 63 days (9 weeks) of gestation. Mifepristone is an antiprogestogen that blocks progesterone receptors; misoprostol is a prostaglandin analogue that causes uterine contractions to expel the products of conception.

Ingredients

• Mifepristone 200 mg
• Misoprostol 200 mcg

Direction

Day 1: Take mifepristone 200 mg orally. Day 2–3 (36–48 hours later): Take 4 tablets of misoprostol 200 mcg each (total 800 mcg) sublingually (under the tongue) or vaginally. Always used under medical supervision. Follow-up consultation is required 14 days later to confirm complete expulsion.

Side effects

• Uterine cramping and pain
• Nausea
• vomiting
• diarrhoea
• Heavy vaginal bleeding
• Fever or chills (with misoprostol)
• Headache
• dizziness
• Serious: incomplete abortion
• haemorrhage
• infection (rare but require urgent medical attention)

Precautions

• Must be used only under medical supervision by trained healthcare professionals.
• Contraindicated if ectopic pregnancy is suspected — requires exclusion before use.
• Contraindicated in patients with chronic adrenal failure
• haemorrhagic disorders
• anticoagulant therapy
• or corticosteroid therapy.
• Contraindicated with inherited porphyria.
• Risk of serious infection and haemorrhage — seek emergency care if heavy bleeding
• severe abdominal pain
• or fever persists.
• Not suitable for patients who cannot comply with follow
• up.
• Contraindicated if IUD in place (must be removed before use).
• Not a method of contraception.
