Indication
LOXMA FORT is an antacid and antiflatulent used to relieve symptoms of heartburn, acid indigestion, bloating, and gaseous distension. Aluminium and magnesium hydroxides neutralise stomach acid; simethicone reduces gas bubbles in the gastrointestinal tract.
Ingredients
- Aluminium hydroxide 225 mg
- Magnesium hydroxide 200 mg
- Simethicone 25 mg
Direction
Adults: Take 1β2 tablets or the equivalent suspension dose, 1 hour after meals and at bedtime, or as directed by a physician. Chew tablets thoroughly before swallowing. Children: Use only on medical advice.
Side effects
- Constipation (aluminium component)
- Diarrhoea (magnesium component)
- Chalky taste
Precautions
- Use with caution in patients with renal impairment β risk of aluminium and magnesium accumulation.
- May reduce absorption of other drugs (fluoroquinolones
- tetracyclines
- iron
- ketoconazole) β take at least 2 hours apart.
- Prolonged unsupervised use is not recommended.
- Inform your doctor if symptoms persist beyond 2 weeks.
- Keep out of reach of children.
