Indication

Sildenafil is a phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) in men. It enhances penile erection by increasing blood flow in response to sexual stimulation. Note: 150 mg is above the standard approved maximum dose (100 mg); clinical use at this strength should be under strict medical supervision.

Direction

Adults (men): Take as directed by a physician, typically 30–60 minutes before sexual activity. Do not take more than once in 24 hours. Take with or without food (high-fat meals may delay onset). Sexual stimulation is required for the medication to work.

Precautions

• Do not use if taking nitrates in any form (e.g.
• nitroglycerin
• isosorbide) — risk of severe
• potentially fatal hypotension.
• Do not use if taking riociguat or other PDE5 inhibitors.
• Contraindicated in patients with severe cardiovascular disease
• recent stroke or heart attack (within 6 months)
• hereditary degenerative retinal disorders.
• Use with extreme caution in patients with hypotension
• severe hepatic impairment
• or predisposition to priapism.
• 150 mg exceeds the maximum approved dose — use only under strict medical supervision.
• Avoid grapefruit juice — increases sildenafil levels.
• Report any sudden vision or hearing loss immediately.
