Bedelix 2 3g

Indication

Bedelix (diosmectite 3 g) is an adsorbent anti-diarrhoeal agent used to treat acute diarrhoea in adults and children, and as symptomatic treatment of pain and discomfort associated with oesophageal, gastric, and intestinal pathologies.

Ingredients

• Smectite (diosmectite) 3 g

Direction

Adults: Dissolve one 3 g sachet in half a glass of water (100 mL) and drink immediately; take 3 sachets per day (after meals and at bedtime). For acute diarrhoea the dose can be doubled in the first 3 days. Children: Doses vary by age — consult physician or package insert.

Side effects

• Constipation (at high doses)
• Nausea (rare)

Precautions

• Do not use if allergic to diosmectite or any excipients.
• May reduce the absorption of other medications — take other oral medicines at least 2 hours before or after diosmectite.
• Use with caution in patients with constipation risk.
• Consult a doctor if diarrhoea persists beyond 48 hours or is accompanied by fever or blood.
• Keep out of reach of children.
