Indication
BIOFLOR is a probiotic (biotherapeutic agent) used for the prevention and treatment of diarrhoea including antibiotic-associated diarrhoea, traveller's diarrhoea, and recurrent Clostridioides difficile-associated diarrhoea. It helps restore the natural balance of intestinal flora.
Ingredients
- Saccharomyces boulardii CNCM I
- 745 (lyophilised) 250 mg
Direction
Adults: Take 1–2 capsules (250–500 mg) twice daily, with or without food. Children: Dose as directed by a physician. Duration: Continue for at least 5–7 days; for antibiotic-associated diarrhoea, continue for the full antibiotic course and 5 days after.
Side effects
- Flatulence (bloating) — uncommon
- Fungaemia (very rare — in severely immunocompromised patients)
Precautions
- Contraindicated in immunocompromised patients (risk of fungal septicaemia).
- Contraindicated in patients with central venous catheters.
- Do not use if allergic to Saccharomyces boulardii or yeast products.
- Store in a cool
- dry place to maintain viability of live organisms.
- Keep at least 2 hours apart from antifungal drugs.
- Consult a doctor before use in pregnancy or breastfeeding.
- Keep out of reach of children.
