Alnex 400 Naproxen 400mg

Indication

Naproxen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to relieve pain, inflammation, and stiffness associated with conditions such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, gout, dysmenorrhoea (menstrual pain), and other musculoskeletal disorders. It also reduces fever and relieves mild to moderate pain.

Ingredients

• Naproxen 400 mg

Direction

Adults: Take one 400 mg tablet (or as prescribed) with food or milk to reduce gastrointestinal upset. For pain and dysmenorrhoea: 500 mg initially then 250–500 mg every 6–8 hours as needed; do not exceed 1250 mg on day 1 and 1000 mg/day thereafter. For arthritis: 500–1000 mg/day in 2 divided doses. Children ≥2 years (for JIA): 10 mg/kg/day in 2 divided doses.

• Gastrointestinal ulcer or bleeding (with prolonged use)
• Headache

• Oedema (fluid retention)
• Elevated blood pressure
• Renal impairment (with prolonged use or high doses)
• Skin rash

Precautions

• Contraindicated in patients with active peptic ulcer or gastrointestinal bleeding.
• Do not use if allergic to naproxen

• NSAIDs increase risk of serious cardiovascular thrombotic events (MI
• stroke) with prolonged use.
• Avoid use in the third trimester of pregnancy.
• Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration.
• Use with caution in patients with hypertension
• heart failure
• renal/hepatic impairment
• or elderly patients.
• Concomitant use with anticoagulants
• aspirin
• corticosteroids
• or SSRIs increases bleeding risk.
• Avoid alcohol during treatment.
• Keep out of reach of children.
