RafalGAN Infusion Paracetamol 1g/100ml

Indication

RafalGAN Infusion is an intravenous analgesic and antipyretic. It is indicated for the short-term treatment of moderate pain, especially when the oral route is not appropriate, and for the treatment of fever in adults and children.

Ingredients

• Paracetamol (Acetaminophen) 1 g per 100 ml

Direction

Adults and adolescents over 50 kg: 1 g (100 ml) IV infusion every 4–6 hours, maximum 4 g per day. Children weighing 10–33 kg: 15 mg/kg every 4–6 hours (max 60 mg/kg/day). Administer by IV infusion over 15 minutes. For hospital use; administer under medical supervision.

Side effects

• Generally well tolerated at recommended doses.
• Rare: hypersensitivity reactions including skin rash
• anaphylaxis.
• Elevated liver enzymes with overdose or chronic high
• dose use.
• Thrombocytopenia (very rare).

Precautions

• Contraindicated in patients with severe hepatic impairment or active liver disease.
• Use with caution in patients with chronic alcoholism
• malnutrition
• or dehydration.
• Maximum daily dose must not be exceeded — overdose can cause fatal hepatotoxicity.
• Check all concurrent medications for paracetamol content to avoid accidental overdose.
• Keep out of reach of children.
