DEXA-MS Dexamethasone

Indication

DEXA-MS (Dexamethasone) is a potent synthetic corticosteroid used for its anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive properties. It is indicated in a wide range of conditions including allergic reactions, asthma, severe inflammatory conditions, cerebral oedema, septic shock (adjunct), and as part of chemotherapy regimens.

Ingredients

• Dexamethasone sodium phosphate 4 mg per ml (typical injectable concentration) or Dexamethasone 0.5 mg per tablet — exact form not specified on label

Direction

Dosage is highly variable and must be individualised by a physician based on indication, severity, and patient response. Do not self-medicate. Administer strictly under medical supervision.

Precautions

• Contraindicated in systemic fungal infections (unless specifically treated).
• Long
• term use causes adrenal suppression — do not abruptly discontinue
• taper dose.
• Increases susceptibility to infections — do not use in patients with active untreated infections.
• Use with caution in patients with diabetes

• Avoid live vaccines during therapy.
