Cloderm Cream 0.05% w/w corticosteroid

Indication

Cloderm Cream (clobetasol propionate 0.05%) is a very potent topical corticosteroid indicated for the short-term treatment of severe corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses such as psoriasis, severe eczema, lichen planus, and other resistant inflammatory skin conditions.

Ingredients

• Clobetasol propionate 0.05% w/w

Direction

Adults: Apply a thin layer to the affected area twice daily for up to 4 weeks. Do not use on the face, groin, or axillae. Do not use under occlusive dressings unless directed. Total weekly application should not exceed 50 g.

Side effects

• Skin thinning
• atrophy
• striae.
• Telangiectasia
• bruising.
• HPA axis suppression with extensive or prolonged use.
• Cushing's syndrome (with misuse).
• Local burning
• itching
• irritation.

Precautions

• Contraindicated in viral
• fungal
• and bacterial skin infections
• rosacea
• perioral dermatitis
• and acne.
• Not for long
• term continuous use — risk of skin atrophy
• striae
• and adrenal suppression.
• Avoid contact with eyes.
• Not recommended in children under 1 year
• use with extreme caution in children (higher risk of systemic absorption).
• Do not use on face without specialist guidance.
• Keep out of reach of children.
