Rafalgan 1g / 100ml

Indication

Used for the short-term treatment of moderate pain, especially when oral administration is not possible, and for the reduction of fever.

Ingredients

• Paracetamol (Acetaminophen) 10 mg per mL (1 g per 100 mL) — IV infusion

Direction

Adults and adolescents over 50 kg: 1 g (100 mL) intravenously every 4–6 hours; maximum 4 g/24 hours. Administered as IV infusion over 15 minutes. Dose reduction required in renal or hepatic impairment.

Side effects

• Nausea / vomiting
• Hypotension (with IV infusion)
• Increased liver enzymes
• Hypersensitivity reactions (rare)
• Liver toxicity in overdose

Precautions

• Do not exceed recommended dose — overdose causes serious liver damage.
• Do not use concurrently with other paracetamol
• containing products.
• Use with caution in patients with hepatic impairment
• chronic alcoholism
• or malnutrition.
• Ensure correct dose especially in patients under 50 kg.
