Alpha CHOAY Alpha chymotrypsine

Indication

Alpha CHOAY is a proteolytic enzyme used as an anti-oedematous and anti-inflammatory agent for the treatment of post-operative and post-traumatic oedema, inflammation, and swelling following surgery, dental procedures, or injuries.

Ingredients

• Alpha chymotrypsin 5000 IU (or equivalent enzymatic units per tablet)

Direction

Adults: 1–2 tablets 3–4 times daily. Allow the tablet to dissolve slowly under the tongue (sublingual) or chew before swallowing, depending on formulation. Take 30 minutes before or 2 hours after meals for best absorption.

Side effects

• Nausea or gastrointestinal upset.
• Allergic reactions including rash (rare).
• Diarrhoea.

Precautions

• Use with caution in patients with bleeding disorders or on anticoagulant therapy.
• Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to chymotrypsin or pancreatic enzymes.
• Consult a doctor before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
• Not recommended for children without medical advice.
• Keep out of reach of children.
