Hydrogen Peroxide 3% H2O2 3% External Use

Indication

A topical antiseptic solution used to clean and disinfect minor wounds, cuts, abrasions, and skin ulcers. Also used as a mouthwash for oral hygiene and minor mouth infections when diluted.

Ingredients

• Hydrogen peroxide 3% (30 mg/ml)

Direction

Wound cleansing: apply directly to the affected area with a swab or allow to bubble over the wound. Use 1–2 times daily. For oral use: dilute with equal volume of water and use as a mouthwash; do not swallow. For external use only unless specifically formulated for oral use.

Side effects

• Stinging or burning sensation upon application.
• Temporary skin whitening.
• Prolonged use may delay wound healing.
• Rarely: tissue damage with concentrated solutions.

Precautions

• For external use only
• do not swallow.
• Avoid contact with eyes.
• Do not use in deep wounds
• puncture wounds
• or over large body areas.
• Do not use under occlusive dressings.
• May bleach fabrics.
• Keep out of reach of children.
• If accidentally swallowed
• seek medical attention immediately.
