STAMLO 5 Amlodipine 5mg

Indication

A calcium channel blocker used for the treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure) and angina pectoris (chest pain). Helps lower blood pressure and reduce the frequency of angina attacks.

Ingredients

• Amlodipine besylate equivalent to Amlodipine 5 mg

Direction

Adults: 5 mg once daily. The dose may be increased to a maximum of 10 mg once daily based on clinical response. Take at the same time each day with or without food.

Side effects

• Ankle oedema (swelling)
• flushing.
• Headache
• dizziness.
• Fatigue
• palpitations.
• Nausea.
• Rarely: severe hypotension
• exacerbation of angina at start of therapy.

Precautions

• Contraindicated in patients with severe hypotension or obstructive outflow obstruction (e.g.
• severe aortic stenosis).
• Contraindicated in cardiogenic shock.
• Use with caution in patients with severe hepatic impairment
• start at 2.5 mg.
• May cause ankle oedema — inform your doctor.
• Do not stop taking without consulting your doctor.
• Consult a doctor before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
• Use with caution in elderly patients.
