Nowill-72 Levonorgestrel 1.5mg

Indication

An emergency contraceptive (morning-after pill) used to prevent pregnancy after unprotected sexual intercourse or contraceptive failure. Most effective when taken as soon as possible, within 72 hours of unprotected sex.

Ingredients

• Levonorgestrel 1.5 mg

Direction

Take one tablet as soon as possible, within 72 hours (3 days) of unprotected intercourse. Taking a second dose is not required. If vomiting occurs within 3 hours of taking the tablet, take another tablet.

Side effects

• Nausea
• vomiting.
• Fatigue
• headache
• dizziness.
• Irregular menstrual bleeding (next period may be early or late).
• Breast tenderness.
• Abdominal pain.

Precautions

• Not for use as a regular method of contraception.
• Not effective if the woman is already pregnant.
• Contraindicated in patients with known or suspected pregnancy.
• Use with caution in women with severe malabsorption syndromes.
• May interact with hepatic enzyme
• inducing medicines (rifampicin
• anticonvulsants)
• consider a higher dose after consulting a doctor.
• Seek medical advice if lower abdominal pain occurs (risk of ectopic pregnancy).
• Not suitable for use before menarche.
• Does not protect against sexually transmitted infections.
