Indication
A topical NSAID gel with menthol used for the local symptomatic relief of pain and inflammation in musculoskeletal conditions including sprains, strains, bruises, minor sports injuries, and rheumatic conditions.
Ingredients
- Diclofenac sodium 10 mg/g (1%)
- Menthol (concentration varies)
Direction
Adults and children 14 years and over: apply 2β4 g of gel (approx. 2β4 cm strip) to the affected area 3β4 times daily. Rub gently until absorbed. Wash hands after application. Do not use under airtight dressings.
Side effects
- Local skin reactions: rash
- redness
- itching
- burning sensation.
- Rarely: allergic contact dermatitis.
- Systemic NSAID effects are rare with topical application at recommended doses.
Precautions
- For external use only.
- Avoid contact with eyes
- mucous membranes
- or broken skin.
- Do not use in patients with hypersensitivity to diclofenac
- aspirin
- or other NSAIDs.
- Avoid in the third trimester of pregnancy.
- Not recommended for children under 14 years without medical advice.
- Avoid excessive sun exposure on treated areas.
- Do not bandage tightly after application.
