RiZ Cetirizine Cetirizine Tablets BP 10mg

Indication

A non-sedating second-generation antihistamine used for the symptomatic relief of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis, allergic conjunctivitis, and chronic idiopathic urticaria (hives).

Ingredients

• Cetirizine hydrochloride 10 mg

Direction

Adults and children 12 years and over: 10 mg once daily. Children 6–12 years: 5 mg twice daily or 10 mg once daily. Children 2–6 years: 2.5 mg twice daily (syrup formulation preferred). Take with or without food.

Side effects

• Drowsiness
• fatigue (less common than first
• generation antihistamines).
• Dry mouth

• Nausea

• Rarely: allergic reactions
• urinary retention.

Precautions

• Use with caution in patients with severe renal impairment (dose reduction required).
• Although generally considered non
• sedating
• may cause drowsiness in some individuals
• caution with driving or machinery.
• Avoid alcohol.
• Consult a doctor before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
• Not recommended for children under 2 years.
