Indication

A short-acting beta-2 agonist bronchodilator used for the relief and prevention of bronchospasm in asthma, exercise-induced asthma, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

Ingredients

• Salbutamol sulfate equivalent to Salbutamol 100 mcg per actuation

Direction

Relief of acute bronchospasm — Adults and children 4 years and over: 1–2 puffs (100–200 mcg) as needed. For prevention before exercise: 2 puffs 15–30 minutes before activity. Do not exceed 8 puffs in 24 hours. Shake well before each use. Rinse mouth with water after inhalation.

Side effects

• Tremor
• palpitations
• tachycardia.
• Headache.
• Hypokalaemia (with high doses).
• Muscle cramps.
• Paradoxical bronchospasm (rare
• discontinue immediately).

Precautions

• Seek medical advice if you need to use the inhaler more than 3 times per week — may indicate worsening asthma.
• Use with caution in patients with cardiovascular disorders
• hyperthyroidism
• or diabetes.
• May cause hypokalaemia with high doses
• monitor potassium in severe asthma.
• Do not use as the sole treatment for long
• term asthma management.
• Pressurised container — do not puncture
• crush
• or expose to temperatures above 50 °C.
• Consult a doctor before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
