SIPRAN-DX Ciprofloxacin + Dexamethasone Eye/Ear Drop 10ml

Indication

Ear/eye drops combining a fluoroquinolone antibiotic and corticosteroid used for the treatment of acute otitis externa (swimmer's ear) and post-operative inflammation after ophthalmic surgery, where bacterial infection is confirmed or suspected.

Ingredients

• Ciprofloxacin 0.3% (3 mg/ml)
• Dexamethasone 0.1% (1 mg/ml)

Direction

Ear (otitis externa): Adults and children 6 months and over: 4 drops into the affected ear(s) twice daily for 7 days. Warm the drops to body temperature before instilling. Eye use: as directed by a physician.

Side effects

• Local itching
• discomfort
• or residue in ear.
• Ear pain (temporary).
• Rarely: allergic reactions.
• Fungal superinfection with prolonged use.

Precautions

• Not for use in patients with perforated tympanic membrane without specialist advice.
• For otic and ophthalmic use only
• not for injection.
• Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to ciprofloxacin or other fluoroquinolones.
• Corticosteroid component may mask signs of infection or promote fungal overgrowth.
• Do not use contact lenses during treatment.
• Keep the dropper tip clean and avoid touching the ear or eye.
• Consult a doctor before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
