PREDNISOLONE Prednisolone 5mg Tablets, Glucocorticoid Anti-Inflammatory

Indication

A corticosteroid used to treat a wide range of inflammatory and autoimmune conditions, including allergic disorders, asthma, rheumatoid arthritis, inflammatory bowel disease, skin conditions, and certain blood disorders.

Ingredients

• Prednisolone 5 mg

Direction

Adults: Dosage is individualised by a physician based on the condition being treated. Typical starting doses range from 5 mg to 60 mg daily. The dose is usually taken in the morning with or after food. Doses should be tapered gradually under medical supervision and not stopped abruptly.

Precautions

• Do not stop taking this medicine abruptly after prolonged use
• taper dose under medical supervision.
• Use with caution in patients with diabetes

• osteoporosis
• peptic ulcer
• glaucoma
• or infections.
• May suppress the immune system
• avoid contact with people with active infections such as chickenpox or measles.
• Long
• term use may cause adrenal suppression
• Cushing's syndrome
• osteoporosis
• and growth retardation in children.
• Inform your doctor of all other medications
• NSAIDs and aspirin may increase the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding.
• Not recommended during pregnancy unless benefit outweighs risk

• Live vaccines should be avoided during treatment.
