Mediclovir Cream Acyclovir 50mg, 5g

Indication

Topical treatment of Herpes simplex virus (HSV) infections of the skin and lips (cold sores, herpes labialis). May also be used for genital herpes lesions as directed by a physician.

Ingredients

• Acyclovir 50mg per gram (5%) in 5g cream

Direction

Apply a thin layer to the affected area 5 times daily (every 4 hours, omitting the night-time dose) for 5–10 days. Start treatment at the earliest sign of infection.

Side effects

• Mild burning
• stinging
• or itching at application site.
• Transient erythema or dryness.
• Rare: allergic contact dermatitis.

Precautions

• For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes.
• Do not apply to mucous membranes unless directed by a doctor.
• Wash hands before and after application.
• Keep out of reach of children.
