Indication
Treatment of susceptible bacterial infections including pharyngitis, tonsillitis, otitis media, uncomplicated urinary tract infections, and lower respiratory tract infections.
Ingredients
- Cefixime 100mg (dispersible tablet)
Direction
Adults: 200–400mg per day in one or two divided doses. Children: 8mg/kg/day as a single dose or in two divided doses. Disperse tablet in water before taking. Take with or without food.
Side effects
- Diarrhoea
- nausea
- abdominal pain.
- Headache
- dizziness.
- Skin rash.
- Rare: severe allergic reaction.
Precautions
- Do not use if allergic to cephalosporins.
- Cross
- sensitivity may occur with penicillin allergy.
- Dose adjustment in renal impairment.
- Complete the full course of treatment.
- Keep out of reach of children.
