Almex 400 Albendazole 400mg

Indication

Treatment of intestinal worm infections including ascariasis, hookworm infection, trichuriasis, enterobiasis (pinworm), and strongyloidiasis. Also used in the treatment of neurocysticercosis and hydatid disease.

Ingredients

• Albendazole 400mg

Direction

Adults and children over 2 years: 400mg as a single dose for most intestinal worm infections. For neurocysticercosis: 400mg twice daily for 8–30 days. Take with or after a fatty meal to improve absorption.

Side effects

• Abdominal pain
• nausea
• vomiting.
• Headache
• dizziness.
• Elevated liver enzymes (especially with prolonged use).
• Rare: bone marrow suppression
• alopecia.

Precautions

• Contraindicated in first trimester of pregnancy
• use effective contraception during and for 1 month after treatment.
• Not recommended in children under 1 year.
• Monitor liver function with prolonged courses.
• Use with caution in patients with liver disease.
• Keep out of reach of children.
