Daplazole Dexlansoprazole 60mg

Indication

Treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) including erosive oesophagitis and non-erosive reflux disease. Maintenance of healed erosive oesophagitis.

Ingredients

• Dexlansoprazole 60mg (delayed
• release capsule)

Direction

Adults: 60mg once daily for 4–8 weeks for erosive oesophagitis; 30mg once daily for maintenance or NERD. Swallow capsule whole; may be opened and granules sprinkled on applesauce for patients with difficulty swallowing.

Side effects

• Diarrhoea
• nausea
• abdominal pain.
• Headache
• flatulence.
• Rare: hypomagnesaemia (long
• term use)
• C. difficile infection.

Precautions

• Long
• term use associated with hypomagnesaemia and vitamin B12 deficiency.
• Risk of Clostridium difficile
• associated diarrhoea.
• Use with caution in severe hepatic impairment (max 30mg/day).
• Not recommended for use in children under 12 years.
• Keep out of reach of children.
