Indication
Treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) including erosive oesophagitis and non-erosive reflux disease. Maintenance of healed erosive oesophagitis.
Ingredients
- Dexlansoprazole 60mg (delayed
- release capsule)
Direction
Adults: 60mg once daily for 4โ8 weeks for erosive oesophagitis; 30mg once daily for maintenance or NERD. Swallow capsule whole; may be opened and granules sprinkled on applesauce for patients with difficulty swallowing.
Side effects
- Diarrhoea
- nausea
- abdominal pain.
- Headache
- flatulence.
- Rare: hypomagnesaemia (long
- term use)
- C. difficile infection.
Precautions
- Long
- term use associated with hypomagnesaemia and vitamin B12 deficiency.
- Risk of Clostridium difficile
- associated diarrhoea.
- Use with caution in severe hepatic impairment (max 30mg/day).
- Not recommended for use in children under 12 years.
- Keep out of reach of children.
