Zyloric 300mg comprimés

Indication

Management of gout and hyperuricaemia, prevention of uric acid nephropathy, and treatment of renal stones associated with uric acid.

Ingredients

• Allopurinol 300mg

Direction

Take 1 tablet once daily after food with plenty of fluids. Dose may be adjusted based on serum urate levels. Maintain adequate fluid intake (2–3 litres/day).

Side effects

• Skin rash (may be serious — Stevens
• Johnson syndrome)
• Nausea and gastrointestinal upset
• Drowsiness
• Acute gout attacks at start of therapy
• Rarely: severe hypersensitivity syndrome

Precautions

• Do not start during acute gout attack.
• Reduce dose in patients with renal impairment.
• Discontinue immediately if skin rash develops.
• Maintain high fluid intake to prevent renal calculi.
• Avoid alcohol as it may increase uric acid levels.
