Indication
Treatment of gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD), peptic ulcer, H. pylori eradication (in combination therapy), and pathological hypersecretory conditions.
Ingredients
- Omeprazole 20mg
Direction
Take 1 capsule/tablet daily, preferably 30 minutes before a meal. Swallow whole; do not crush or chew.
Side effects
- Headache
- Nausea and diarrhoea
- Abdominal pain
- Hypomagnesaemia with prolonged use
- Rarely: C. difficile
- associated diarrhoea
Precautions
- Long
- term use may reduce magnesium levels — monitor in prolonged therapy.
- May mask symptoms of gastric cancer.
- Use with caution in patients with severe hepatic impairment.
- Avoid long
- term use without medical supervision.
- May reduce absorption of some drugs (e.g.
- ketoconazole
- atazanavir).
