CALTOUX 100ml

Indication

Mucolytic agent used to reduce the viscosity of mucus in respiratory tract disorders such as bronchitis, bronchiectasis, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

Ingredients

• Carbocisteine 250mg per 5ml

Direction

Adults: Take 15ml (750mg) three times daily initially, then 10ml (500mg) three times daily as maintenance. Children: dosage adjusted by age and weight. Take with or after food.

Side effects

• Nausea and gastrointestinal discomfort
• Rash
• Rarely: gastrointestinal haemorrhage

Precautions

• Avoid in patients with active peptic ulcer disease.
• Use with caution in patients with history of gastrointestinal issues.
• Not recommended in children under 2 years without medical advice.
