Indication
Treatment of gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD), peptic ulcer disease, H. pylori eradication (in combination), and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.
Ingredients
- Esomeprazole 40mg
Direction
Take 1 capsule/tablet (40mg) once daily before a meal. Swallow whole — do not crush or chew. Duration as directed by physician.
Side effects
- Headache
- Nausea and diarrhoea
- Abdominal pain
- Hypomagnesaemia with prolonged use
- Rarely: interstitial nephritis
Precautions
- Long
- term use may reduce magnesium and vitamin B12 levels.
- May mask symptoms of gastric malignancy.
- Use with caution in severe hepatic impairment.
- May reduce absorption of drugs requiring acidic gastric pH.
