Indication
Management of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults when diet and exercise alone are insufficient.
Ingredients
- Gliclazide 80mg
Direction
Take 1 tablet orally once or twice daily with meals. Dose should be adjusted according to blood glucose response under medical supervision.
Side effects
- Hypoglycemia
- Nausea
- Gastric upset
- Skin rash
- Rarely
- hepatic dysfunction or blood disorders
Precautions
- Monitor blood glucose regularly.
- Risk of hypoglycemia
- especially if meals are skipped.
- Contraindicated in type 1 diabetes
- diabetic ketoacidosis
- and severe renal or hepatic impairment.
- Use with caution in elderly patients.
- Avoid alcohol as it may potentiate hypoglycemic effects.
