CEPHALEX-MS 500 Cephalexin 500mg

Indication

Treatment of bacterial infections including respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, bone infections, and otitis media caused by susceptible organisms.

Ingredients

• Cephalexin 500mg

Direction

Adults: Take 250–500mg every 6 hours or 500mg every 12 hours orally. Take with or without food. Complete the full course of treatment as prescribed.

Side effects

• Nausea
• Diarrhea
• Abdominal pain
• Skin rash
• Urticaria
• Rarely
• anaphylaxis or pseudomembranous colitis

Precautions

• Use with caution in patients with penicillin allergy due to cross
• reactivity.
• Use with caution in patients with renal impairment
• dose adjustment may be required.
• May cause Clostridioides difficile
• associated diarrhea.
• Complete the full prescribed course even if symptoms improve.
