Indication
Treatment of bacterial infections including respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, bone infections, and otitis media caused by susceptible organisms.
Ingredients
- Cephalexin 500mg
Direction
Adults: Take 250β500mg every 6 hours or 500mg every 12 hours orally. Take with or without food. Complete the full course of treatment as prescribed.
Side effects
- Nausea
- Diarrhea
- Abdominal pain
- Skin rash
- Urticaria
- Rarely
- anaphylaxis or pseudomembranous colitis
Precautions
- Use with caution in patients with penicillin allergy due to cross
- reactivity.
- Use with caution in patients with renal impairment
- dose adjustment may be required.
- May cause Clostridioides difficile
- associated diarrhea.
- Complete the full prescribed course even if symptoms improve.
