Indication
Treatment and prevention of duodenal and gastric ulcers. Also used for stress ulcer prophylaxis and GERD symptom relief.
Ingredients
- Sucralfate 1g per 15ml
Direction
Adults: Take 15ml (1g sucralfate) 4 times daily, 1 hour before meals and at bedtime. Shake suspension well before use. Take on an empty stomach.
Side effects
- Constipation
- Dry mouth
- Nausea
- Gastric discomfort
- Rarely
- aluminum toxicity with prolonged use in renal impairment
Precautions
- May reduce absorption of other medications
- take other drugs at least 2 hours before sucralfate.
- Use with caution in patients with renal impairment due to aluminum accumulation.
- Avoid concurrent antacids within 30 minutes of sucralfate.
- Consult a doctor during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
