Indication

Treatment of infections caused by anaerobic bacteria and protozoa, including bacterial vaginosis, trichomoniasis, giardiasis, intestinal amebiasis, and intra-abdominal infections.

Ingredients

• Metronidazole 500mg

Direction

Adults: Dosage depends on indication. Typical dose: 500mg 2–3 times daily for 5–7 days. Take with or after food to reduce gastric irritation.

• peripheral neuropathy with prolonged use

Precautions

• Avoid alcohol during treatment and for at least 48 hours after completing therapy (disulfiram
• like reaction).
• Use with caution in patients with severe hepatic impairment.
• Not recommended during the first trimester of pregnancy.
• Use with caution in patients with blood dyscrasias or neurological disease.
