Indication

Management of type 2 diabetes mellitus as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adults when dual therapy with sitagliptin and metformin is appropriate.

Ingredients

• Sitagliptin 50mg
• Metformin hydrochloride 1000mg

Direction

Take orally twice daily with meals to reduce gastrointestinal side effects. Dose titrated based on glycemic control under physician supervision.

• Nausea
• Diarrhea
• Abdominal pain
• Lactic acidosis (rare
• serious)
• Nasopharyngitis
• Upper respiratory infection
• Headache
• Hypoglycemia (when combined with other antidiabetics)

Precautions

• Contraindicated in patients with renal impairment (eGFR < 30 ml/min/1.73m²) due to metformin.
• Hold metformin before procedures using iodinated contrast media.
• Monitor renal function periodically.
• Discontinue immediately if lactic acidosis is suspected.
• Use with caution in patients with hepatic impairment.
• Risk of hypoglycemia increases when combined with insulin or sulfonylureas.
