Indication
Konimag is an antacid and antiflatulent used to relieve symptoms of hyperacidity including heartburn, acid indigestion, upset stomach, and bloating/gas associated with these conditions.
Ingredients
- Magnesium Trisilicate 300 mg
- Dried Aluminium Hydroxide Gel 300 mg
- Simethicone 50 mg
Direction
Adults: Take 1–2 tablets 3–4 times daily, between meals and at bedtime, or as directed by a physician. Chew tablets thoroughly before swallowing. Children 6–12 years: Half the adult dose under medical supervision.
Side effects
- Diarrhoea (magnesium
- related).
- Constipation (aluminium
- related).
- Nausea.
- Chalky taste in mouth.
Precautions
- Do not use in patients with severe renal impairment (aluminium and magnesium accumulation risk).
- Prolonged use of high doses of magnesium
- containing antacids may cause hypermagnesaemia in patients with renal failure.
- May interfere with absorption of other medicines — take other medicines at least 2 hours apart.
- Avoid in patients with hypophosphataemia.
- Consult a doctor if symptoms persist for more than 2 weeks.
- Keep out of reach of children.
