Panadol Extra 500mg Paracetamol + 65mg Caffeine

Indication

Panadol Extra is an analgesic and antipyretic used for the relief of mild to moderate pain including headache, migraine, toothache, backache, period pain, muscular pain, and for reducing fever. The addition of caffeine enhances the analgesic effect of paracetamol.

Ingredients

• Paracetamol 500 mg
• Caffeine 65 mg

Direction

Adults and children 12 years and over: Take 2 tablets up to 4 times daily as needed. Allow at least 4 hours between doses. Do not exceed 8 tablets (4 g paracetamol) in 24 hours. Not for children under 12 years.

Side effects

• Rare at recommended doses.
• Nausea.
• Allergic reactions (skin rash
• itching) — rare.
• Nervousness
• restlessness
• or insomnia (due to caffeine).
• Liver damage with overdose.

Precautions

• Do not exceed the recommended dose — paracetamol overdose can cause serious and potentially fatal liver damage.
• Do not take with other paracetamol
• containing products.
• Avoid or limit caffeine intake from other sources (coffee
• tea
• energy drinks) while taking this product.
• Use with caution in patients with liver or kidney disease.
• Consult a doctor if symptoms persist for more than 3 days for fever
• or 5 days for pain.
• Not recommended in pregnancy unless advised by a doctor.
• Keep out of reach of children.
