Indication
Oxy-Nase Nasal Spray contains oxymetazoline, a topical sympathomimetic alpha-adrenergic agonist used as a nasal decongestant for the temporary relief of nasal congestion associated with the common cold, hay fever, sinusitis, and allergic rhinitis.
Ingredients
- Oxymetazoline HCl 0.05% w/v
Direction
Adults and children over 6 years: 2–3 sprays in each nostril twice daily (morning and evening). Do not use more than twice in 24 hours. Do not use for more than 3 consecutive days.
Side effects
- Burning or stinging sensation in the nose.
- Sneezing.
- Dryness of nasal mucosa.
- Rebound congestion with prolonged use.
- Headache.
- Palpitations or increased blood pressure (with excessive use).
Precautions
- Do not use for more than 3 consecutive days — risk of rebound congestion.
- Not for children under 6 years without medical advice.
- Use with caution in patients with hypertension
- heart disease
- hyperthyroidism
- or diabetes.
- Do not use with MAO inhibitors.
- Avoid sharing the applicator.
- Keep out of reach of children.
