Maalox Hydroxyde d'aluminium 460mg, Hydroxyde de magnesium 400mg

Indication

Maalox is an antacid used to relieve symptoms of heartburn, acid indigestion, and gastric hyperacidity. The combination of aluminium and magnesium hydroxides provides rapid and sustained neutralisation of stomach acid.

Ingredients

• Aluminium hydroxide 460 mg
• Magnesium hydroxide 400 mg

Direction

Adults: 1–2 tablets chewed or 10–20 mL suspension taken 20–60 minutes after meals and at bedtime, or as directed by a physician. Chew tablets well before swallowing.

Side effects

• Constipation or diarrhoea.
• Nausea.
• With long
• term use: hypophosphataemia or hypermagnesaemia.

Precautions

• Avoid in patients with severe renal impairment.
• May reduce absorption of other oral medications — separate administration by at least 2 hours.
• Prolonged use may cause electrolyte imbalances.
• Keep out of reach of children.
