Indication

Rocgel (Aluminium phosphate gel) is an antacid used to neutralise excess gastric acid and relieve the symptoms of heartburn, acid indigestion, and gastric pain associated with gastritis and peptic ulcer disease.

Ingredients

• Aluminium phosphate 1.2 g per sachet (equivalent to aluminium phosphate gel)

Direction

Adults: One 1.2 g sachet 2–3 times daily, taken between meals and at bedtime, or as directed by a physician. Take undiluted or mixed with a small amount of water.

Side effects

• Constipation.
• Nausea (uncommon).
• Electrolyte disturbances with prolonged use.

Precautions

• Avoid prolonged use without medical supervision.
• May reduce absorption of other oral medications — take at least 2 hours apart.
• Use with caution in patients with renal impairment.
• Constipation may occur with prolonged use.
• Keep out of reach of children.
