AdvilMed Ibuprofen 20mg/ml

Indication

AdvilMed Ibuprofen (20 mg/mL oral suspension) is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to relieve pain, reduce fever, and treat inflammation in infants and children. It is indicated for fever, mild to moderate pain including teething pain, earache, headache, and pain associated with colds.

• Ibuprofen 20 mg/mL oral suspension

Direction

Dose by body weight. Typical paediatric dose: 5–10 mg/kg every 6–8 hours as needed, not exceeding 40 mg/kg/day. Use the measuring device provided. Take with or after food to reduce stomach upset. Do not exceed the recommended dose.

Side effects

• Nausea
• vomiting
• abdominal pain.
• Gastrointestinal upset (less common than in adults).
• Dizziness
• headache.
• Rash or allergic reactions (rare).
• Renal effects with prolonged use.

Precautions

• Not recommended for children under 3 months or under 5 kg body weight.
• Avoid in patients with known hypersensitivity to ibuprofen or other NSAIDs.
• Avoid in patients with active peptic ulcer
• renal or hepatic impairment.
• Do not use concurrently with aspirin or other NSAIDs.
• Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration.
• Seek medical advice if fever persists for more than 3 days or pain for more than 5 days.
• Keep out of reach of children.
