Prospan Cough Syrup 100ml

Indication

Prospan Cough Syrup (Hedera helix dry extract) is a herbal medicine used to relieve symptoms of productive cough and bronchial spasm associated with acute and chronic bronchitis. It acts as an expectorant and bronchospasmolytic agent.

Ingredients

• Dry ivy leaf extract (Hedera helix L.) 35 mg per 5 mL

Direction

Adults and children over 10 years: 5 mL 3 times daily. Children 6–10 years: 2.5 mL 3 times daily. Children 1–5 years: 2.5 mL twice daily. Infants (under 1 year): 2.5 mL once daily under medical supervision. Shake well before use.

Side effects

• Gastrointestinal discomfort (nausea
• vomiting
• diarrhoea) — uncommon.
• Allergic reactions (rare).

Precautions

• Not recommended in patients with known allergy to ivy or Araliaceae family plants.
• Do not use in patients with hereditary fructose intolerance (contains fructose/sorbitol).
• Consult a physician if symptoms worsen or persist beyond 1 week.
• Keep out of reach of children.
